WASHINGTON – Monday marks the deadline for federal employees to adjust to an ultimatum from Elon Musk: both clarify what they completed in every week or face termination.
The demand has sparked outrage and pushback from some U.S. businesses, which have totally different messages for his or her staff. FOX 5’s Melanie Alnwick says the directive is including to the chaos within the federal authorities.

Federal employees face deadline amid chaos
Kris Cervantes, with All Souls Unitarian, was at L’Enfant Plaza on Monday standing with federal employees. “We simply wish to assist our federal employees. We all know they’re beneath plenty of stress, and so we wished to welcome them again to the workplace right this moment,” Cervantes stated her group is providing waves, fist-bumps, and hugs.
The e-mail, titled “What Did You Do Final Week?” was adopted by Musk’s risk on “X” that federal employees who didn’t reply with 5 issues they completed can be fired.

Businesses push again, citing personal procedures
Musk’s directive comes after President Trump urged him to be extra aggressive, regardless of DOGE getting access to greater than a dozen federal businesses and the firing of hundreds of federal employees.
There’s confusion and pushback, with newly confirmed FBI Director Kash Patel amongst these telling their company personnel to carry off, stating that the FBI has its personal procedures.
